Next up: Game 8/Awards Ceremony/Pizza

Apologies to anyone who came late to practice to find it cancelled on Wednesday; it was called off for lack of participation.

The Elis will finish their season on Saturday at 2:30 with a game against the Bats at the Hillspoint North field. Directions follow.

After the game, the Elis will receive trophies and patches in recognition of a great season. We will also have pizza delivered to the field; we hope that even those with plans after the game can stay for a few minutes. Afterward, Michael Nealon's parents have invited the Elis to his house; bring your favorite Eli's bathing suit.

Game 7 CANCELLED/Next up: Bridgeport Bluefish game

Today's game against the Barons is cancelled. It appears it will be raining most of the day, and especially at game time, with a high likelihood of lightning.

A reminder for those who have RSVP'd for Sunday's outing at the Bluefish game: Please report with your Eli to the statue by the entrance before 1:30. At 1:30, we will be heading in to get the Elis autographs from the players. Any unclaimed tickets will be left at Will Call at that time.

Next up: Practice, June 8/Elis at Bridgeport Bluefish, June 12

Practice will be at 5 p.m. this Wednesday at Luciano Field. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

Coach Diaco has managed to get tickets for the whole team to see the Bridgeport Bluefish when they host the Long Island Ducks on Sunday, June 12, at 2:05. We have enough tickets for all players and one accompanying adult per Eli. It might be possible to get more tickets.

Please confirm that you plan for your Eli to attend by e-mailing Mike Gordon at boyreporter@hotmail.com by Thursday. If you want more than two tickets, let him know then, and Coach Diaco will see what he can do.

We will plan to meet by the statue at the entrance to the ballpark at 1:15. Sunday's game is Family Fun Day, and at 1:30, Coach Diaco will take all assembled Elis inside to get autographs. It appears the kids also will get to run the bases after the game.

Coach Gordon will wait outside until 2:00 with all remaining tickets and then will head inside. His cell number is 646/288-2703; if you get to the stadium by 2:00 and don't see anyone, please give him a call.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the game.
